Toorgin looked out of the 4th story veranda in the former Adventurer’s Guild building that has been re-appropriated as the newly minted Athkatlan independent investigations Guild (AiiG). Despite his distaste for dense civilization and the wilderness being his comfort zone, he did opt to return to the city after the brief, but damaging plague and demon invasion that resulted in a spiritual unbalancing of the fae and physical realms. Properly balanced society made for properly balanced (ie feral) wilderness, so if he could work with his friends to get everything into a working order and limit the inherent chaos of Athkatlan politics, well it was worth sleeping in a plush bed and enjoying a view of the city in the morning. The soaring spires, white marble, and mansard roof designs that were the fashionable architecture of the noble quarter did make a pleasing vista for Toorgin. Despite civilizations sprawl, he did appreciate the greenery and vines that were a result of fae realm interloping; a silver lining is his eyes.

His gaze then wandered on one of the newest landmarks which certainly stood out; the newly formed Cathedral of the Holy Cycle. After repurposing the Temple of Torm, the site of his friend’s battle with the corrupted demon worshipers from the tatters of the Empire movement and the evil cleric Redhoof, a non-insubstantially large group of Athkatlan citizens formed a worship of the plague goddess Talona; exacerbated by the demonic incursion half a year back. Albeit briefly lived, the incursion inspired a significant portion of the populace to be drawn to the plague goddess in a desire to return a balance of power. Toorgin himself reflected on the egalitarianism of the cycle of life, death, and rebirth. Bacteria, after all, did not care if it lived in the body of a wealthy or poor individual, only that it was able to reproduce and go on to nourish the next generation. The concept of balance and equality, especially after the period of imbalance along with the requisite repercussions, resonated with more people than one would think. Toorgin included. He mused on his identification with the oft maligned goddess.

Of course the newfound religious fervor had no bearing on the ambitions of Amn and Athkatla’s more industrious figureheads. Manisha Graves, Vizen Dewdrinker, and Linuz Bronzebottom all were actively vying to fill the gaps in the power vacuum left by the cacophony of chaos of the last six months. Dewdrinker had reclaimed his warehouses as well as market positions as a distributor and merchant that purchased from producers and provided for the wealthy and working class of Athkatla alike. Manisha Graves and her former White Boars made up most of the new guards and police force for Athkatla. With Galathor’s young Empire movement in disarray, a return to stability and normalcy presented an opportunity for Graves to assume the mantle of law and order in the Amn city limits (and to a smaller extent the greater state of Athkatla). Bronzebottom was able to capitalize on the destruction of much of the city's infrastructure by purchasing many distressed properties in the city and optimizing his construction and renovation logistics and crews to reinvigorate all quarters of the city in a reasonable (if not accelerated) timeframe.
